The Danish Centre for Technical Aids for Rehabilitation and Education is a nation-wide information and recourse centre.

Aim

As its name implies, the Danish Centre aims to contribute towards integration and the creation of equal opportunities for disabled people in society - within the fields of rehabilitation, assistive technology, special education and accessibility. Efforts are carried out both nationally and internationally in close cooperation with disability organizations, public authorities, institutions, research and know-how centres, local networks, manufacturers and suppliers.

Spheres of activity

The Danish Centre offers information about assistive technology, working methods, educational materials, research and development within the following areas:

  • Assistive technology to mobility, sensory impairments and communication at home, at work, in school and in leisure time.
  • Accessibility to the physical environment, housing, information- and communication technology and services
  • Technology supporting communication and special education
  • In addition, the Danish Centre carries out testing of assistive devices and participates in standardization work.
